So excited to announce a new musical, based on the film The Illusionist. The book is by Peter Duchan, and music and lyrics by me. Its world premiere is happening in Tokyo at the end of 2020/start of 2021, directed by Thom Southerland. All the details here.

Michael is a Scottish composer and lyricist who has composed scores for the National Theatre, the Old Vic and theatres in the West End and on Broadway. He was composer-in-residence at the Donmar Warehouse from 2012-2019.
His new musical, based on the film The Illusionist, opened in Tokyo in 2021 and his debut musical theatre album Unwritten Songs topped the iTunes vocal chart.
